Fair Credit Billing Act: A law designed for consumer protection that also covers the use of credit cards during Internet transactions in the case of fraud or merchant disputes, but typically does not cover debit cards or checking cards.

fat: Substances required by the body for certain processes, but if consumed in excess will lead to an increase in body weight.

fat calories: These are required by the body to keep the metabolism operating at higher levels; when reduced to minimal intake can cause a hoarding of fat in existing tissue, but should be consumed as "good" fats.

fad diets: Fast weight loss plans exist that come and go in popularity and are typically surrounded in some controversy by health professionals due to over-extended promises for results and lifetime maintenance.

fjords: Picturesque bays created by glacial movement found in Scandinavia.

flea market: A common place for selling counterfeit goods.

flightseeing: Sight-seeing tours by air.

foot cup rafts: White-water rafts equipped with small toe holds which help passengers remain in the boat.

fruit salad: A dish comprised of assorted chopped fruit which can be assembled without generating heat in the kitchen.

FTB: First time buyer; a buyer that does not have any property to sell before completing a transaction.

glacier hiking: Climbing on the ice of a glacier.

guest ranch: A ranch open to tourists who complete chores and experience "frontier life."

healthy weight: A healthy weight range based on BMI falls between 18.5 and 24.9, although this may not be an accurate percentage as individuals may bear more muscle than fat.

hologram: An addition to ICCs that can help prevent counterfeiting.

IAAPA: International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions; the professional organization to which many water parks belong.

identity theft: When a cracker is able to listen in on network traffic and identify the Mac address of a computer with network privileges.

immobilizer: An electronic device fitted to an automobile which prevents the engine from running unless a correct key is present. This is designed to prevent hot-wiring.

independent certification: A process where some insurance companies and local agencies require that alarm systems be installed to code or certify by an independent third party.

indoor water park: A collection of slides and pools located indoors and which may stay open year-round.

integrated circuit card (ICC): See smart card.

intellectual property: Copyrights, trademarks and patents which are violated by counterfeiting.

isometrics: These are resistance exercises designed to increase strength that, in turn, will assist in a weight loss program through the flexing of muscles against another force without overt physical exertion.
